NET vs. PBS
[edit]The lead currently says, "It has aired on the United States national public television provider PBS since its debut ...." "Its" is ambiguous in that sentence. "Sesame Street" has aired on PBS since the debut of PBS, but for a year before that, the show aired on National Educational Television (NET). The sentence as currently written could imply that "Sesame Street" started on PBS instead of on NET. I'm not sure how to rephrase the sentence without being overly pedantic, though. -- Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:33, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Metropolitan90, technically NET was the precursor to PBS and is a name change, that's all. It's worded that way to avoid confusion. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:09, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Episode list
[edit]I am creating a unique episode list for the Japanese article, but isn't an English version also necessary? Nikajp (talk) 13:26, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Nikajp, how cool is you creating a Japanese version! Your question comes up often here; most recently, earlier this year. See here Talk:Sesame Street/Archive 4#List of episodes. The consensus thus far is to not have a list here, since it'd make an already-long article longer and more unwieldly. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:16, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

There must be an error about the networks Sesame Street was on, as I found out that HBO ended a deal with Sesame Workshop, three days ago, as part of Warner Bros. Discovery's decision to shift away from children's television shows, but I hope The Walt Disney Company buys the show, as well as many of Sesame Workshop's props, so that the Muppets and the Sesame Street Muppets can feel united again, as with their past. 47.16.59.19 (talk) 20:45, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
Jim Henson
[edit]There is no mention of where, when or how Jim Henson became involved, though when his name comes up it is implied he had a significant role.
It would be useful to include details of Henson's involvement since the whole thing is credited to two producers with no indication aside from Muppets what role Henson played.
Czarnibog (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Czarnibog, um that's just not true. Henson's role is mentioned several times in this article, beginning with the first paragraph of the lead and quite extensively in the Cast, crew and characters" section, which states that he wasn't involved until the curriculum meetings in Boston, which is accurate. Plus, this article credits lots of other producers like Jon Stone, writers like Joe Raposo, and educators like Gerald Lesser. So I respectfully disagree, of course. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 19:27, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- No mention if he was invited or responded to an open call for the curriculum seminar, just that he met Cooney. Was Cooney interested in using puppets or did it come about after they met.
- This is significant not just in regard to Henson but in the process of how it got off the ground.
- To this day the Muppet's are the main identifier people have regarding Sesame St Czarnibog (talk) 09:02, 13 January 2025 (UTC)

Benjamin Lehhman was executive producer of the show until 2022. In 2022 Sal Perez became the show's executive producer. Please reflect this. 12.28.52.122 (talk) 18:05, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
